Earn or renew your ACC credential with confidence.

Mentor coaching for ACC candidates, led with the care of a teacher and the listening precision of a lawyer.

ICF ACC (renewed 2026) · For ACC candidates

Joshua offers mentor coaching under his renewed ICF Associate Certified Coach credential through December 31, 2026. Beginning January 1, 2027, ICF requires the Mentor Coach Specialization for mentor coaches, which he is completing.

Fun can still be impactful.

“I’m nervous” is something coaches say before feedback. As a former teacher and still a teacher at heart, Joshua’s aim is a fun but impactful experience. His legal training adds close listening and clear, specific feedback. You will be challenged, supported, and respected as a coach.

Mentor coaching FAQ

What is mentor coaching?

Mentor coaching helps coaches build their skills against the ICF Core Competencies through feedback on real coaching sessions.

How many mentor-coaching hours do I need?

ACC candidates (new and renewal) need 10 hours of mentor coaching, including at least 3 hours that are one-on-one. Our program provides 10 hours over at least three months, with at least 3 hours one-on-one and up to 7 in a group.

Which credential levels do you mentor for?

I mentor ACC candidates — coaches earning the credential for the first time and those renewing it. I hold the ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential, renewed in 2026.

Do you guarantee a credential?

No. ICF makes credential decisions. Mentor coaching can provide honest, specific feedback and a clearer picture of readiness.

How does a mentor coach prepare for a session?

A lot of time is spent by the mentor coach preparing for a session. This may require watching and analyzing pre-recorded coaching sessions as compared to ICF standards, writing up comparisons and notes, or preparing lesson plans based on the needs of the group cohort. The one hour of a mentor coaching session can take upwards of two additional hours to prepare for.
